It is now officially confirmed, that new models of Asus EEE PC and EEE PC 900 will come out also with preinstalled Windows XP operating system. This is great news, i’m sure this will increase sales of this sub-notebook even more as the hassle of installing XP on EEE PC manually is now gone.

The EEE PC versions of Linux will also be available. The difference on EEE PC 900 of Linux and XP is in hard disk sizes - Linux version will have 8 Gb, but the XP version 12 Gb.

When you want to stop the screensaver script, press ctrl+alt+del, open task manager and in the the processes tab end the process Ribbons.scr.
You can do this trick with any screensaver that your Vista has!

Is it possible to run Vista on Asus EEE PC? At EEE PC Demo a series of articles will try to follow how to install and run Vista on EEE PC.

But it’s also important to remember, that Vista eats up resources of you notebook. And, considering EEE PC being a sub-notebook, my advice would be stay away from installing Vista on EEE. Why? Because your computer should stay lightweight and fast, and as far as i’ve worked with my EEE PC - the original Linux OS is great, i had no reason to replace it to Win XP or Win Vista!

Instructions to format Vista partition when logged inside XP

If you don’t do this, the boot manager will be still present after you remove Vista, even if you’ll have only one OS (win xp) on yer PC!

Here’s what you do before formating vista disc from windows xp - So i did boot the vista in safe mode (the serial was expired, that was the only way you can still access vista control panel), then somewhere in computer properties in control panel switched win xp (previous windows version) as default on start up, and left 0 seconds for boot menu (so the boot menu don’t show up when there will be no more vista). after that i restart back into XP, format vista disc (disc D - properties - format - ntfs = 40minutes reading book and drinking tea) and everything works!
